2005 LG 50 inch Plasma TV Screen Circuit Boards in back of TV
My friend heard a load pop and then the TV picture was very distorted with black areas in the picture. The sound was OK. Could not find any apparent damage on the boards or any blown fuses.
So I read that 50" plasmas are common for having a power failure issue. The problem resides in the Y-Sustain board in most cases, (The board is in the upper Left behind the fan in picture above).
